Marine Mover – Charles King joins Southport Boat Works

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Charles King has joined Southport Boat Works as chief financial officer, leaving a position as vice president and controller of London Pacific Life and Annuity Company, Southport said in a recent press release.

“Charles is an exceptional addition to the Southport team,” said Alton Herndon, Southport managing partner. “In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, Charles will be of tremendous assistance in organizing and developing management information and reporting systems.”

Southport Boat Works will manufacture center console and cabin sport fishing boats. Its entire line of sport fishing boats will be designed specifically for four-stroke outboard power by C. Raymond Hunt Associates, Southport said.

The company will build three models for the 2005 model year: a 26-foot center console, a 28-foot center console, and a 28-foot cabin model.
