DANBURY, Conn. – GE Vendor Financial Services (VFS), has made three appointments to the executive leadership team for the GE Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF) business unit, a recent company release said.

CDF, a marine industry financing source, said R. Scott Barber, president, GE Commercial Distribution Finance Marine Group, will be responsible for managing the direction of the company’s financing products and services for the benefit of the marine distribution channel.

Barber brings 21 years of financial services experience to this position, including senior level assignments in inventory finance, consumer finance, mortgage banking, and SBA lending. Prior to his appointment, he served as executive vice president of Transamerica Distribution Finance, according to the statement.

Bruce Van Wagoner and Richard Strickler have also been appointed executive vice presidents of the marine group, the company said.

Van Wagoner has 27 years of experience in financial services, the majority of which were directly affiliated with the marine industry.

Strickler, formerly senior vice president of Transamerica’s Recreational Products Group, has 32 years of marine finance experience, having held senior level positions in inventory finance, consumer finance, leasing, and insurance premium finance.
