Marine Mover: Hinckley Yacht Services Promotes Kerr, Hood

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Hinckley Yacht Services has announced the promotions of James Kerr and Bob Hood for the company’s Portsmouth, R.I., boatyard.

Kerr, who has been named service operations manager, joined the carpentry shop at the Portsmouth facility in 1995. After working to develop the shop, he was promoted to senior service manager. Over the last year, he worked with Jack Jennings, the former service operations manager, in running the boatyard.

Hood, who has been named assistant service operations manager, will focus his attention on supervision of service managers, scheduling and insuring that the facility meets the quality and delivery expectations of its customers, according to the release. Mr. Hood began his career with Little Harbor in 1988 and has held many positions within the service business.

“James Kerr and Bob Hood make an excellent team,” said Gerry Dischino, President of Hinckley Yacht Services. “They have the experience, the know-how and the deeply ingrained commitment to quality and service that are so important in our business.”

The Portsmouth facility is the largest of five full-service yards that Hinckley Yacht Services has under its umbrella. The others are located in Southwest Harbor, Maine, Oxford, Md., Savannah, Ga., and Stuart, Fla.
