CLEARWATER, Fla. – Glenn Sandridge, who most recently served as director of marketing for watercraft at Bombardier, has taken a position as vice president of marketing at boating retailer MarineMax, the company reported in a statement yesterday.
Sandridge, who has been working in the marine industry since 1988, also formerly served as vice president of sales and marketing for Mastercraft.
"I'm thrilled to join the largest national marine retailer after being on the manufacturer side of the business for more than a decade," said Sandridge. "I look forward to continuing to build the MarineMax brand while increasing traffic and sales at the dealerships with current and new customers."
In his new role at MarineMax, Sandridge will be responsible for driving all of the company's marketing initiatives, and will report to Bill McGill, chairman, president, and CEO of MarineMax.
"Coupled with his strong understanding of marketing, we are confident that Glenn's background will prove beneficial in building on the success we experienced in 2003 with the Ferretti deal and growth of our stock," said McGill.
An avid boating enthusiast, Sandridge grew up on the water in his native Virginia, according to MarineMax. He took up boating as a teenager, before attending University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. Sandridge has lived in Florida since 1996 and is in the process of relocating to Clearwater with his wife, Lanie.
