Marine Mover: BoatTEST names director of bass boat operations
STAMFORD, Conn. – BoatTEST Publishing has appointed Doug Thompson as director of Bass Boat Operations, it reported in a recent statement.
Thompson joins the BoatTEST team after serving as chief editor of Bass & Walleye magazine. Prior to Bass & Walleye, Thompson was chief editor of Powerboat magazine.
“Doug’s extensive knowledge of both fiberglass and aluminum fishing boats–and his existing relationships with those builders–makes him the perfect candidate to head up our bass-boat testing program,” said BoatTEST publisher Chris Kelly.
Thompson has conducted numerous bass-boat test rallies for Bass & Walleye, and will be doing the same for BoatTEST. The company’s first annual bass boat rally will be held the week of January 19 at the East Lake Fishing Camp in Kissimmee, Fla.
Upon completion of the testing, some of the video tests will appear on “BoatTEST REPORTS” TV on the Outdoor Channel. The series debuts nationwide December 28 and runs throughout the first and fourth quarters of the year.
