Marine Mover: Naugle joins the Davis Consulting Group as consultant

LISLE, Ill. – Bill Naugle, an expert in marine diesel engine and transmission design, applications, installations and problem solving, has joined Davis Consulting Group (DCG) marine engineers, a division of Davis & Co., Ltd., as a consultant, the company announced today.

In his new position, Naugle will be working with the company’s team of marine surveyors and naval architects in areas of accident reconstruction, fire and explosion cause and origin, forensic engineering and commercial vessel surveying, according to the company.

Naugle spent almost 40 years with Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill., in the marine engine and marine transmission division, serving in a wide array of positions including inspector of engine parts, lab technician testing marine and diesel engine cooling performance, and design engineer in charge of field-testing of marine transmissions. He designed a new line of seven models of marine transmissions for the 500-5,000 hp marine engine applications during his tenure.

In addition, Naugle has hands-on knowledge of diesel engine operation, having been involved in the selection, testing and maintenance of endurance race boats, including serving as part of the crew, the company reported.
