Marine Mover: Silver joins Furuno’s sales team

CAMAS, Wash. — Furuno U.S.A. has recently appointed Dean Silver as regional sales manager in the Southeast region, the company reported October 28.

Silver comes to Furuno after spending the last 19 years in the marine electronics industry. From 1984 through 1991, he held various positions with Robertson-Shipmate including national sales manager. In 1991, Silver served as Southeast regional manager for Simrad until starting with Furuno.

Silver, a graduate from the University of Denver, also spent six years as a regional director for the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) and is currently a vice president of the Marine Electronics Journal, Inc., according to the company.

“We are extremely pleased to have Dean on board,” said Matt Wood, sales manager of Furuno U.S.A. “With the increase in market demand, and the pending introduction of our new line of autopilots, we were in need of more staff to support our dealers. We are proud of the service that we have provided to our dealers in the past and we look forward to providing even better service in the future.”
