Marine Mover: Dange appointed VP for Sea Ray Boats

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Milind Dange, has joined Sea Ray Boat Group as its new vice president of product development and engineering (PD&E), the company announced in a statement today.

In his new position, Dange will lead the 225 people of Sea Ray’s PD&E group based in Merritt Island, Fla., where he will direct the design and engineering functions. Under Dange’s leadership, the future direction of Sea Ray’s engineering systems and architectural platforms will be molded to represent forward-thinking designs and superior quality, according to Cynthia M. Trudell, president of Sea Ray Boat Group.

Dange, has spent the past three years in Silicon Valley, where he has worked on advancing applications of wireless, Internet, and Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies, primarily for the auto industry. Prior to this, he spent 12 years with DaimlerChrysler in key strategic product and platform planning roles.

“This experience positions Milind with the capability to understand and execute domestic and global products that are both key to our group’s long-term growth,” said Trudell.

Dange holds a bachelor of science degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay as well as a master of science in structures from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
