Jack Malone Returns to Mercury Marine

Jack Malone, who started his career at Mercury Marine, has returned to the engine company as VP sales – dealer and retail division. This occurred only six months after the long-time Yamaha Marine Group employee was forced out of a position as Marine Power vice president due to reorganization at Yamaha.
Malone, a Penn State graduate in marketing, started with Mercury in 1973 as a zone sales manager. He worked in several Eastern markets during his nine years with Mercury before joining Yamaha Motors. He progressed rapidly to the senior position of vice president and general manager at Yamaha before being forced out in September.
Malone is past chairman of the NMMA. He will report directly to John Ward, president of Mercury’s dealer and retail division.
