Sea Tow Foundation extends deadline for boating safety award nominations

The Sea Tow Foundation has announced a deadline extension for its inaugural National Boating Industry Safety Awards from October 1 to October 7, 2019.

The awards, which will recognize the best boating safety work in the for-profit sector of the recreational marine marketplace occurring within the United States, will be presented November 22 on the opening night of the Boating Industry Elevate Summit in Orlando, FL.

“We want to maximize the entry pool and provide as much time as possible for boating industry organizations to participate,” said Sea Tow Foundation Executive Director Gail R. Kulp. “With a number of fall boat shows and industry events taking place, our North American Sober Skipper Advisory Council recommended we extend the deadline so as many organizations as possible would have an opportunity to submit their best work.”

Nominations are being accepted for boating safety campaigns and efforts from August 15, 2018 through October 7, 2019 by marine industry organizations in the for-profit sector. Applications are available for download at http://soberskipper.com/awards

“There are four specific categories for recognition including manufacturers, retailers, media and general recreational boating initiatives,” said Kulp. “Our Sober Skipper Advisory Council looks forward to recognizing and shining a spotlight on the very best boating safety work in the recreational marine industry.”
