MarineMax announces new management for Massachusetts, Rhode Island stores

A new management team was recently announced for MarineMax Danvers, Boston, Wakefield, and Newport.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce the following changes to our Massachusetts and Rhode Island locations,” begins MarineMax Regional President, Larry Russo Jr. “Blake Phillips has been promoted to general manager and will also retain his sales manager role. Also, Nick Schwidder has been promoted to operations manager, responsible for our service, parts, and marina operations. I am confident that the combination of Blake’s sales drive and Nick’s service acumen will take our business performance and customer experience to the next level.”

A representative for MarineMax said it has been a busy year for the company, as they’ve invested a large amount of time and money into a consolidation and improvement plan for the Massachusetts and Rhode Island boating communities.

Last fall MarineMax Boston, located in Quincy, Mass., transformed by acquiring the Bay Pointe Marina. The new sales center has been operational for several months, and their service, marina, parts, and finance offices are ready for business.

MarineMax Wakefield has been busy stocking expanded inventory options and hiring additional staff to support their sales, service, and finance business. MarineMax Newport has also been hiring more sales staff and concierge service personnel to support growth.

All four stores, MarineMax Danvers, Boston, Wakefield, and Newport, retail the following eight brands: Boston Whaler, Sea Ray, Sailfish, Aquila, Aviara, Azimut, Galeon, and Ocean Alexander.

“I got into this business for three reasons – I love people, I love boats, and I love the dealership experience,” explained Blake Phillips, MarineMax general manager. “I can remember growing up being enamored by the energies of a dealership. Everything felt new, exciting, and everyone was happy. I loved it and never wanted to leave. Fast forward to today, and that’s how you’ll feel when you visit any one of our four stores in Massachusetts or Rhode Island. Simply put, our entire team wants to see you having a great day on the water. We look forward to delivering the experience that you deserve, and we won’t stop until we exceed your greatest expectations.”

Nick Schwidder, MarineMax Operations Manager, continued, “MarineMax is dedicated to delivering the world’s best pleasure boating experience. I’m looking forward to continuing to support the team and our customers in this expanded role within the region.”
