NMMA member appointed to congressman’s advisory board

Scott Lewit, President of Structural Composites, Inc. and an active member of the NMMA, has been appointed to Congressman Bill Posey’s Business Advisory board.  Congressman Posey represents Florida’s 8th Congressional District, which encompasses all of Brevard and Indian River Counties, and a small portion of Orange County (Bithlo, Christmas and Wedgefield).

“It is quite an honor to be selected for Congressman Posey’s Business Advisory Board,” Lewit said. “We are very fortunate here on the Space Coast of Florida to have a Congressman who understands the needs of business. I look forward to contributing to the board.”  

Congressman Posey noted, “I am very pleased to have Scott Lewit on our Business Advisory Board. His focus on advancing marine composites and moving these technologies into transportation and infrastructure will help round out my board.  I look forward to his contributions to the team.”

Lewit has been a key player in the American Boating Congress for over 15 years. His efforts in Small Business Innovation have earned national and global attention.  Lewit is also the Chair of Energy Florida a non-profit and sits on the Space Coast EDC’s Innovation Council, and Business Council. He serves on the Executive Steering Committee for The Composites Consortium which supports the Navy Center of Excellence in Composites.
