Minnesota state senator visits Lund, Crestliner

Minnesota State Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen recently visited Brunswick’s Lund and Crestliner facility in New York Mills, Minn. to meet with members of the leadership team, tour the plant, and speak with several of the 560 employees regarding the company’s operations as well as challenges facing the recreational marine industry.

The NMMA says plant visits with elected officials are important opportunities to highlight the recreational boating industry and the association encourages all members to work with the association to schedule a plant tour.

Dirk Hyde, president of aluminum fish group at Brunswick Corporation, led a short presentation, talking about the challenges of rural economic development and workforce development. Hyde and his team highlighted that the New York Mills facility was recently named a top workplace in Minnesota by the Star Tribune and received recent safety accolades from the Governor.

Hyde thanked the Senator for visiting Brunswick, noting, “We greatly appreciate Senator Ingebrigtsen’s commitment to learning more about the recreational boating industry and local manufacturing jobs in Ottertail County. The annual economic impact from recreational boating to the state of Minnesota is more than $3 billion annually with close to 11,000 jobs in our industry, so it’s an extremely important industry to our state.”
