Bluewater Yachts mourns the loss of Jan Boone

Bluewater Yacht Sales announced that their president, Jan Boone, lost her battle with cancer.

After graduating from college, she began her boating career at Hatteras Yachts in North Carolina, working her way through various roles in marketing, customer service, personnel management and a progression of sales-related positions, including vice president of sales.

In 2008, she accepted the position of president at Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales, amidst the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.

Four years later Boone helped direct the merger between Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales and Bluewater Yacht Sales, overseeing the sale of new models from 10 brands, guiding over 50 employees in 10 east coast sales locations, and facilitating the sale of thousands of listings valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.

Jan’s battle with cancer was prolonged, but the company said “she was a true warrior and continued to push forward leading Bluewater Yacht Sales throughout her treatments.” She is survived by her husband and daughter.
