The NMMA advocacy team wrapped up their boat show advocacy tour late last month, with briefing events at seven shows that were attended by hundreds of industry stakeholders and key national, state, and local government officials. The tour – titled “Propelling Our Industry Forward” – is part of NMMA’s strategic plan to engage membership and the industry in advocacy and leverage boat shows to highlight recreational boating’s economic impact.
NMMA hosted advocacy events at the Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Miami, New England, and Atlantic City shows, which provided attendees with the opportunity to discuss top industry priorities at every level of government – ranging from trade and infrastructure to workforce development and conservation – and how to engage in advocacy efforts. Nearly 300 industry stakeholders and more than 30 government officials – including federal, state, and local elected officials and staffers – attended the events. NMMA thanks everyone who participated in the Propelling Our Industry Forward advocacy tour and looks forward to expanding the briefing series in the coming years.
