Chicago Boat, RV and Sail Show opens for 89th year

On Jan. 9, the Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, RV & Sail Show opened its doors at the McCormick Center – South Hall, running through Sunday, Jan. 13.

In its 89th year, the Progressive Chicago Boat, RV & Sail Show will feature 600 of the newest power and sailboats, more than 100 RVs, and activities for the entire family. For the first time ever, the Show is also unveiling the Chicago Boat Show Pass – an interactive app meant to simplify the attendee and exhibitor experience. Downloadable for iOS Users and Android Users, the app will put the show in attendee’s pockets, allowing visitors to purchase and manage tickets, organize and schedule seminars, scan product information on the floor and also gain access to prizes and exclusive deals. Deals include discounts on boating activities, popular Chicago restaurants, products and much more! Additional detail on the app can be found here and in this video.

Other Show features include a brand new hands-on experience for families at the Chicago Maritime Arts Center Build-A-Boat experience, the always popular and returning Paddlefest where attendees can get up and on the water in kayaks and on stand-up paddle boards, and also more than 150 sailing and boating seminars from the most recognized names in sailing such as John and Amanda Neal, Pam Well, Nigel Calder, Brian Adams and Howard Rice. Also new this year is an interactive experience for seafood lovers with Oyster Bah’s head chef doing oyster shucking demos and tastings on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 4- 7 pm.
