Los Angeles Boat Show opens Thursday

The Los Angeles Boat Show is set to kick off Jan. 10 and continue through Jan. 13, at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.

Now in its 63rd year, the Los Angeles Boat Show offers a destination for boating and outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts, and will feature custom performance boats, ski boats, deck boats, personal watercraft, pontoons, sport fishing boats, runabouts, cabin cruisers, dinghies/inflatables, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and marine accessories.

“There will be pre-season discounts and incentives at the show,” said Los Angeles Boat Show CEO Duncan McIntosh. “Buyers are encouraged to take stock now, before the summer boating season begins and there is a backlog of orders.”

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) reports that California’s recreational boating has an annual economic impact of more than $8.9 billion, which includes indirect, direct and induced spending. Los Angeles plays a vital role to keeping the industry robust, with the strongest sales seen in a decade. In addition, the NMMA reports that as the sixth largest economy in the world, California represents an average of $614 million in annual sales of new boats, engines, and marine accessories.

“We are fortunate that California calls many of the top boating manufacturers home,” McIntosh said. “Centurion in Central California to Shockwave Boats in Corona, are just two of the boat builders who will be at the Los Angeles Boat Show.”

New 2018 and 2019 models will be on hand from builders and manufacturers from around the country such as MasterCraft, Robalo, Centurion, Avalon, SeaDoo, Shockwave, Chaparral, Crownline, Tige, Hallett, Malibu, Premier Pontoons, Bennington, Bentley Pontoons, Tracker, Larson, Crest, Defiance, Ranger, Scout, Yamaha, Regal, SeaRay, Colbalt, Bayliner, Hurricane, Quest, Axis and many more.
