NMMA to expand Boating Career Day efforts at 2019 boat shows
Following the success of its Boating Career Days held during select 2018 NMMA Boat and Sportshows, NMMA will expand upon the effort in 2019 to include a new job fair component for consumers seeking employment in the recreational marine industry.
The new expanded Boating Career Day will be held at NMMA’s Progressive Insurance Atlanta, New York, and New England shows where job seekers are invited to browse participating exhibitor booths that have job openings. NMMA is encouraging participation from those seeking employment through PR and social media efforts that include offering a free ticket to applicants who complete an online form with their contact information and job interests.
In addition, similar to the NMMA’s Boating Career Days held last year, which attracted more than 350 students across six shows, the 2019 Progressive Insurance Atlanta, New York, Minneapolis, New England, Atlantic City and Northwest Sportshow shows will invite local students to learn about the various career paths within recreational boating. Students will hear from a diverse mix of individuals, across numerous jobs in the industry, as part of a Q&A panel at each show. The event will help showcase the size, impact and scope of the industry and its career and job opportunities from marine technicians to engineers to sales and much more.
