Fusion launches range of new marine audio products

Fusion Marine Entertainment recently announced the launch of a variety of new products, ranging from new speakers to wireless remotes.

The new XS Series speaker range and subwoofer features increased functionality, aesthetic improvement and the highest sound quality FUSION users have come to expect.

Available in three sizes (4-, 6.5- and 7.7-inch), the new XS Series speakers combine optimized drivers with separate tweeters to produce a full range of audio reproduction that consistently delivers high quality audio at all volume levels.

The 10-inch XS Series subwoofer, designed to add low frequencies to an audio system, can be installed in two different ways: traditionally wired through an amplifier, or users can create a 2.1 audio zone by connecting two speakers and a subwoofer directly to a Fusion multi-zone stereo with DSP – without the need for an external amplifier.

The new aesthetic design of the XS Series features a translucent cone to provide bright LED illumination on board in a range of colors; set the tone on the boat to complement music, mood or song. The low-profile grilles offer a sleeker design in Sports style or Classic style that let users match the look of their vessel while providing protection to the speakers themselves.

“Keeping our new and legacy products up to date to reflect the latest in sound technology is what we do at Fusion,” said Chris Baird, managing director of Fusion Entertainment. “The XS Series now offers two design styles to match any boater’s aesthetic while optimizing sound quality across the boat. We want users to have flexibility with placement so they can have the best experience wherever they listen to music most on their vessel.”

Fusion also announced the release of its Signature Series 8.8-inch wake tower speakers and component tweeter, engineered for maximum sound output, quality audio delivery, dynamic range and a modern aesthetic design.

The acoustic properties of the tower speakers have been specifically optimized for wake boat applications. With longer throw, greater cut through and precisely calculated enclosure parameters, the wake tower speakers are designed to reproduce crystal clear audio with high performance at all volume levels. The silk dome tweeter creates a smooth upper frequency response and increased efficiency.

Two mounting bracket options are available for the Signature Series Wake Tower Speakers, a swivel mount and a fixed mount. Each mount comes with rubber gaskets and spacers for the seven industry standard bar sizes ranging from 1-5/16 inch (33.4 mm) to 2-1/2 inch (63.5 mm) in size.

Available as an accessory is the Signature Series component tweeter that will add another dimension to the listening experience on the water.

It can be installed with both flush- and surface-mounting options wherever is most suitable on the vessel, complementing the Signature Series speaker range onboard.

The tweeter combines a 1-inch voice coil with a neodymium pot magnet system, hard dome tweeter and 200 watts peak power that work in unison to produce quality high frequencies. Just like the wake tower speakers, the component tweeter is built for durability no matter where it’s installed.

“Our Signature Series speakers delivers the ultimate in sound quality,” Baird said. “The wake speaker and component tweeter are expertly engineered and designed with sound-impacting features so boaters can experience the cleanest sound possible while on the water. Our attention to the specific needs of wakeboarders, as well as those who want to add tweeters for a more dynamic sound to their boats, is just another way that Fusion listens to our customers and delivers exactly what they need.”

Next, Fusion announced the launch of its EL Series full range shallow-mount marine speakers, which features a modern design in two styles with LED lighting options, durable construction and accessory grille options.

The shallow basket design makes the EL Series ideal for installation where mounting depth is limited. The two grille styles, Classic and Sports, have been specifically designed to provide the ultimate in cone protection while complementing the vessel look. The Sports style speakers feature a multi-color LED lighting option that allows users to choose from seven different colors to energize the on-board experience, while its translucent injection-molded polypropylene cone ensures an even and bright LED illumination.

“We built the EL Series as a way for users to enhance any type of vessel, whether it features a modern or classic look,” Baird said. “The EL Series is also designed and engineered for the outdoors so users are not only getting the look and sound they want but they can be sure it will last for a long time no matter where you do your boating.”

Offered in 80-Watt 6.5-inch sized speakers, the EL Series is engineered with a compact basket assembly for simple and versatile installation. Extra grilles are available for purchase to customize the EL Series speakers in four options: Sports White, Sports Grey, Classic White or Classic Black.

The company also announced the release of a weatherproof version of its all-in-one marine entertainment system – the Panel-Stereo Outdoor.

Purpose-built for outdoor installations in marine environment, the Panel-Stereo combines a variety of Fusion ’s latest elements for high quality audio- Class D amplification, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), dual 3-inch speakers, a passive base radiator all inside a perfectly tuned enclosure.

“When we launched the Panel-Stereo in May of this year it was very well received,” Baird said“We took the same top-quality components and compact form-factor and encased them in a weather-proof package. Now the incredibly versatile Panel-Stereo can be installed in outdoor and open-air environments adding even more options for our customers.”

Offering three mounting options to suit the requirements of any installation, the Panel-Stereo is a versatile product. Designed for surface mounting with the optional 43mm surface mounting spacer, Panel-Stereo can be installed directly onto any flat surface with no mounting cut-out required. Minimal depth also makes it ideal for installation in shallow wall cavities, with only a single cutout, where standard speakers will not fit. Both flush and flat options are available with a premium finish.

Requiring only 12V DC power, ground and AM/FM connections, the Panel-Stereo is designed for quick and easy setup to provide a true plug-and-play audio entertainment solution.

All of FUSION’s newly announced speakers, subwoofers, and tweeters have been designed for functionality that lasts in harsh outdoor and marine environments, and are rated IP65 for water and dust ingress protection from the front face when correctly mounted. They also all meet industry standards for UV and salt fog protection, alleviating worries about possible damage.

For wireless control of its new products, FUSION announced the release of the ARX70 ANT Wireless Stereo Remote. The new remote gives users the freedom to control their FUSION ANT-enabled marine entertainment system from anywhere on the boat.

The compact, low profile design, IPX7 water resistant design matched with a 1-year battery life of the ARX70 allows it to be installed wherever is most convenient without cutting holes, running wires or tools required, simply place, pair and play.

FUSION’s Multi-Zone technology within its stereos allows you to create multiple independent audio zones, so you can enjoy different music in every area of your vessel. The ARX70 can interface with compatible FUSION stereos and act as a media controller for a single zone at one time, with the ability to cycle through all independent audio zones for global control. Multiple ARX remotes can be installed across the boat with one or more in each zone giving more control options on board than ever before.

“Small but mighty, the new FUSION ARX70 is extremely versatile, cost effective and makes listening to your favorite entertainment more convenient than ever before,” Baird said. “It’s compatibility with multiple ANT-enabled products, in both wet and dry zones, makes it the perfect partner for any FUSION audio entertainment system.”

The remote’s rubberized tactile buttons ensure a no-slip grip, while the LED lights in the light-bar provide user feedback. Available in white or black to blend seamlessly with any vessel aesthetic, the ARX70 is battery-powered and easy to mount using a semi-permanent VHB tape adhesive that doesn’t require any drilling, screwing or running cable.

The ARX70 is powered by a CR2032 battery, with a typical 1-year battery life. The battery is easily replaceable making the ARX70 simple to maintain. Rated IPX7 water resistant, the ARX70 can be installed in dry or wet areas, ideal for installation on the swim platform, bow or transom.
