New powerboat registrations up 3.5 percent in July

Preliminary data for July 2018 show new powerboat registrations were up 3.5 percent on a rolling 12-month year-over-year basis (R12M YOY).

These new data have been updated and are currently reflected the New Powerboat Registrations Report from the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Highlights from the report include:

  • Cruisers, tow boats and outboard-propelled runabouts were up 6 to 8 percent (R12M YOY).
  • Freshwater fishing boats, sterndrive cruisers, personal watercraft and pontoons were up 3 to 5 percent (R12M YOY).
  • Pontoons, personal watercraft and tow boats led growth for the 3-month period ending in July, up 8 to 9 percent (R3M YOY.)
  • Registrations of boats 27-feet and greater were up 10 percent (R12M YOY).
