Volvo Penta announces changes to executive group

Volvo Penta has announced several senior level personnel changes to the company’s executive group. Peter Granqvist is joining Volvo Penta from DENSO Corp., where he currently is the president and managing director for Sweden. He will take up his role effective Sept. 1.

DENSO is a Japanese global automotive supplier. Granqvist will become senior vice president for product development, planning and purchasing, replacing Johan Inden. His background includes industrial engineering, business management and higher education.

During his career at DENSO, Granqvist led large multi-national and complex engineering programs as well as multi-national business divisions, both in Sweden and Japan.

Inden has taken the role of president for Region Europe, replacing Stefan Carlsson effective July 1. Inden had held the position of senior vice president for product development, planning and purchasing – and chief technology officer – for four years.

Previously, Inden was the president of Volvo Group Venture Capital. His career at Volvo started in 2000 and Inden has had positions at Volvo IT, Volvo Technology Transfer and Wireless Car.

Stefan Carlsson will continue to support the Volvo Penta Executive Group as senior advisor, and will remain head of segment for Marine Diesel & Commercial. However, at the start of 2019, Inden will become segment head for Marine Diesel & Commercial, effective Jan. 1.
