Suntex adds boat rentals at Northeast Tennessee marina

Suntex Marina Investors LLC, has launched a boat rental operation at Laurel Marina & Yacht Club, located on South Holston Lake, situated in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee.

The Laurel Marina rental fleet includes recently acquired pontoon and tritoon boats.

“Visitors that come to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of South Holston Lake now have a new and exciting way to enjoy the scenery,” said Ken Robinson, general manager, Laurel Marina. “With our premier fleet of boats and accessories available to rent, as well as a full-service marine center, Laurel Marina has everything you need to make your summer memorable.”

Laurel Marina & Yacht Club is the oldest marina on South Holston, which is the first lake in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) chain.

The sprawling dealership, service facility and marina that comprises Laurel Marina & Yacht Club today bears little resemblance to the marina that began more than six decades ago.

The transformation began in 1989 when Laurel Marina was the first to introduce covered slips to South Holston and the growth has continued. The current marina business has the capability to moor 600 vessels.

Laurel Marina is also home to the Harbor Grill, open for lunch and dinner, which offers guests live entertainment every Saturday night.
