Suntex buys marina in northern California recreation area

Suntex Marina Investors recently announced the addition of another California property to its growing portfolio – Oak Bottom Marina.

Located on Whiskeytown Lake, in the Northern California mountains in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Oak Bottom 
provides visitors opportunities for outdoor adventures including boating, fishing, water skiing, camping, hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding.

The marina has 94 walk-in tent sites, 22 recreational vehicle and trailer sites, restrooms, store and boat ramp; and boat rentals are available on-site including fishing boats, pontoons, deck cruisers and party barges.

“Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is an unspoiled paradise with incredible natural views and offering unlimited potential for Oak Bottom Marina,” said Ron TenEyck, senior vice president of operations, Suntex Marinas. “We are very excited to add this pristine property to our growing family of marinas, and look forward to investing in the facilities and adding to the overall enjoyment of our future guests.”

Whiskeytown Lake, is a reservoir in Shasta County in northwestern California, about eight miles west of Redding. The lake is in the Whiskeytown Unit of the Whiskeytown-ShastaTrinity National Recreation Area.

Whiskeytown is favored by locals because of the 30 foot visibility of its waters and the wildlife that surround the lake.

The 39,000 acres surrounding the lake include four waterfalls, pristine mountain creeks, 70 miles of trails, and opportunities to explore the history of the California Gold Rush.
