Indmar Marine Engines achieves ISO 9001 certification

Indmar Marine Engines has announced successful completion of the International Organization for Standardization 9001:2015 audit for its corporate office and manufacturing facility in Millington, Tenn.

Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc., an internationally accredited certification company, reviewed Indmar’s management system and provided certification to the standard as an independent third party.

A yearly audit will be conducted to maintain Indmar’s certification status and a more extensive audit will be completed once every three years for certification renewal.

“The rigor and discipline required to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 demanding certification and audit process is a testament of our core values and consistent approach of placing quality at the heart of our company – it’s the recipe of what has made Indmar so successful for the past 47 years,” said Scott Clack, vice president of business development.

Achieving ISO 9001 certification separates Indmar in the marketplace as one of the few inboard marine engines manufacturers to hold this level of certification, said Chuck Rowe, president of Indmar Marine Engines. ““I’m proud of our team and what we have achieved,” Rowe said. “It’s because of our employees’ dedication that we achieved this status. This certification provides assurance to our customers and will assist our company as we continue to grow and introduce innovative technologies to the marine industry.”

Indmar is the world’s largest privately held manufacturer of gasoline-powered inboard marine engines.

The company was the first inboard manufacturer to deliver fuel injection, custom calibrated engines and the first to produce an inboard engine with a catalyzed exhaust.

Indmar operates advanced manufacturing facilities in the U.S. with distributing centers in Millington, Tenn., Merced, Calif., and Nowra, Australia.
