Yamaha, MRAA team up for dealership growth

Yamaha Marine Group and the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas recently announced they have joined forces to further foster marine dealership growth and success.

To encourage dealer participation, Yamaha Marine plans to offer co-op funds to dealers for the first year of MRAA membership and/or co-op funds to become a Marine Industry Certified Dealership. By becoming members of MRAA, Yamaha marine dealerships have the opportunity to benefit from advanced dealer training courses, more than 20 business-enhancing benefits (including an all-new health insurance program), improved workforce development programs, and its annual convention, the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo.

“Yamaha’s relationship with MRAA helps to align our dealerships with a strong advocate organization for the marine industry,” said John Rigsby, Division Manager, Dealer Sales and MRP, Yamaha Marine Group. “As more of our dealerships become members, the collective power of the marine industry voice gets stronger, which is especially important now as we fight for the passage of the Modern Fish Act.”

MRAA exists to foster the success and growth of the marine industry dealer body. The 46-year-old organization accomplishes this by creating and delivering tools, resources and educational programming that help dealers find that growth and success and by representing those businesses with a powerful voice. MRAA hosts an annual educational event, offers an online training and education course catalog for dealers and their staff, and has created the most comprehensive dealer education available in the marine industry through the Marine Industry Certified Dealership Program and the Continuous Certification Curriculum.

“It’s an honor for us to work with Yamaha Marine Group and its network of roughly 2,000 dealerships,” said Matt Gruhn, MRAA President. “We look forward to providing Yamaha dealers greater access to all of the tools and resources that MRAA has to offer to help them succeed in today’s market place. By collaborating with Yamaha, we believe we can not only help dealers strengthen their businesses, but we can also strengthen the overall, unified voice of the marine industry.”
