Bruce Sargent retires after 45-year industry career

Glastron Boats has built a rich legacy of turning heads through its 60-plus years in the marine industry.

Forty-five of those years were served with Bruce Sargent, who is retiring from Glastron effective June 1, 2018.

Sargent started working for Glastron in December 1972 in Austin, Texas. His first position was the general accounting manager, but he soon found his calling in sales.

Following his time in accounting, Sargent was the parts and accessory manager for a few years.

Once in sales, Sargent held multiple positions from sales coordinator and regional sales manager to vice president of sales and marketing.

Most recently, Sargent returned to his current position as regional sales manager for Groupe Beneteau, Cadillac’s Central U.S. and Canadian regions.

One key attribute is Sargent’s passion for his dealers, and one or two strong relationships don’t accurately describe it. He has a family of dealers who know and trust him on a personal level.

Sargent will also be the first to tell you that he has a lot to learn. It is this attitude that has made him a great listener in regards to what’s happening in his dealer’s region of the country.

This focus on partnerships shows his dedication towards helping a business grow in the right ways. Sargent always said, “The stronger they are, the stronger you will be.”

“Bruce’s knowledge and commitment to detail will surely be missed as he moves forward with the next chapter of his journey,” said Andy Lindsay, Groupe Beneteau’s vice president of sales, Americas.

Lindsay added: “Knowing Bruce personally, we know how deserving he is of a pleasant future. So, we wish our dear friend a wonderful retirement and much luck on the golf course.”

  3. Congratulations to Bruce on a long successful career in an extremely volatile industry. Bruce was the glue that held Glastron together through much of those ups and downs. In my opinion, he was “the keeper of the flame” in that organization and drove much of its success. (http://organizationalcreativity.info/keeper_of_the_flame)

Bruce, our paths haven’t crossed in quite a while but maybe you will see this. I always enjoyed working with you and appreciated your support. Best wishes for a long and well deserved retirement.
