NMRA, MMTA join forces to spur industry job growth

The National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA) and Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) are cooperating to address the immediate worker shortage and ensure a strong future for the marine industry.

The focus of the strategic collaboration is to bring the next generation of workers into the maritime trades, especially through their respective scholarship programs.

The MMTA provides the framework to further the interests of the marine trades in the Massachusetts region. It does this through the promotion and advocacy of recreational boating, participation in the legislative process, and the development of education and training programs.

Through its Massachusetts Marine Trades Educational Trust, it offers a scholarship program, the William Armstrong Scholarship Awards, and job site, www.massboatingcareers.com.

“Our organizations share a deep commitment to bringing talented young people into the marine trades,” said Neal Trombley, NMRA president. “We’re looking forward to working together to help the next generation discover rewarding, well-paying careers in the industry we love so much.”

Based in Foxboro, Mass., the MMTA can be reached at (774) 404-8005, www.boatma.com or randall@boatma.com.
