U.S. DOC countervailing duty announcement expected April 17

The National Marine Manufacturers Association has learned from the U.S. Department of Commerce that the countervailing duty investigation of common alloy aluminum sheet from China will be signed on April 16, and announced on April 17.

The countervailing duty is just one portion of the expected tariffs on aluminum sheet from the department. The other is the anti-dumping tariff.

Combined, NMMA anticipates these to total more than 60 percent in tariffs on aluminum alloy sheet from China. Separately, and in addition to these two tariffs, is the 10 percent tariff from the Administration on all aluminum from overseas. More information on the tariffs can be found HERE.

NMMA is continuing its aggressive outreach regarding these aluminum tariffs on Capitol Hill to educate Congress and the Trump Administration on the impact on the recreational boating industry. Upon learning of the announcement on April 17, NMMA will alert its members to next steps.
