Orlando Boat show reports record attendance, strong sales

The 2018 Orlando Boat Show delivered another successful three-day event March 2-4 with more than 60 exhibitors and nearly 400 boats on display in Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center.

According to organizers, the show, hosted by the Marine Industry Association of Central Florida, featured nearly every variety of watercraft from personal water crafts to pontoons and ski boats to mega-yachts.

“MIACF has just finished the most exceptional Orlando Boat Show we have ever had,”  said MIACF Executive Director David Ray. “Not only were show space sales the best ever but our show attendance was up 28 percent over last year’s February show.

The 2018 Orlando Boat show did not disappoint, said Joe Lewis, with Mount Dora Boating Center “It gave us the opportunity to introduce our dealership to many new faces as well as show how boating brings families together,” Lewis said.

Beyond building awareness about Central Florida boating, MIACF reported encouraging sales numbers from the event.

“Dealer sales were strong, especially in the larger boats and the next few weeks should bring many additional sales,” Ray said.

Boat buyers were out in full force at the Orlando Boat Show, reported Jeff Husby, with Regal & Nautique of Orlando. “Our sales staff was extremely busy talking with potential customers.”

MIACF returns to Orlando with a Fall Boat Show Aug.17-19.
