Mercury Marine, labor union announce collective bargaining agreement

Mercury Marine and the negotiating committee of the labor union, IAMAW Lodge 1947, have announced today a new collective bargaining agreement.

The new contract, which will remain in place through Aug. 26, 2023, was voted in favor by the members of the IAMAW Lodge 1947 and will be signed by both Mercury Marine and the IAMAW.

Complete details of the agreement will not be made public but includes wage increases, and enhanced benefits providing for increased flexibility.

Mercury Marine is committed to hiring and retaining the best workforce,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president. “Both the company and the IAMAW saw an opportunity to strengthen our partnership and worked very closely to put together an agreement that will benefit our employees and the company now and in the future,” Pfeifer said.

The new contract will allow Mercury Marine to be the employer of choice in the area and continue its goal of attracting and retaining the best talent, Pfeifer added.

“The new agreement highlights an ongoing and growing partnership between Mercury, its employees and the IAMAW in maintaining world-class manufacturing facilities and products at Mercury Marine while strengthening the union’s commitment to Fond du Lac and the surrounding communities,” said Benito Elizondo, IAMAW District 10 business representative.

Mercury Marine employs close to 3,200 people at its global headquarters in Fond du Lac and more than 6,000 worldwide.
