West Marine hires former Lowe’s executive as CEO
West Marine, Inc has hired a new CEO. Doug Robinson will join the company Jan. 29. Most recently, Robinson spent 13 years with Lowe’s and his last role was president, international operations and development. He is an avid sailor and longtime customer of West Marine.
Robinson has three decades of speciality retailing experience. He’s also a supporter and participant in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Leukemia Cup Regatta, an event West Marine has supported the last 22 years. He will take the helm on Jan. 29.
Great move. Now that they have someone that understands supply chain it’s time to address their marketing ills.

I abanded west marine 8 years ago. Searching for some tune up parts for my twin 350’s and having trouble with local greed..I was steered to west marine with the talk about online price matching. Its true..not only that, their bringing back the catalog… This new CEO is a genious!
