Progressive Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show opens today
The Progressive Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show kicks off today for a four-day run at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This year’s show, which features over 700 new boats and innovative marine technology and accessories on display, is also home to the inaugural Minneapolis Innovation Awards.
The Innovation Awards come to Minneapolis in 2018 for the first time to honor manufacturers and suppliers who bring new, innovative products for the boating industry to market in the following categories: aluminum fishing boats, fiberglass fishing boats and pontoon boats.
In 2016, Minnesota ranked fourth nationally with $710 million in sales of new powerboat, engine, trailer and accessories, up 9 percent from 2015, according to NMMA.
