Scarab Boats adds Galey’s Marine to California dealer network
Scarab Boats has expanded its dealer network in California by adding Galey’s Marine to the company’s distribution channel.
“We are excited to have Galey’s Marine join our distribution team. We look forward to working with Don Galey and the team at Galey’s Marine as they have been a longtime industry leader and will certainly advocate the circulation of Scarab products in California and its surrounding areas,” said Andy Lindsay, vice president of sales, Americas.
Galey’s Marine was first established in 1938 by Otto Galey. His son, Don Galey, the current president, bought the business in 1955. In January 1999, Galey’s Marine opened a state-of-the-art facility on a 5-acre estate and currently operates as a full-service dealership that carries a full line of boats and accessories.
Don’s son and grandson, Mark Galey and Steve Pinheiro, are now the primary contacts at Galey Marine.
Galey recently received the honorable Lifetime Achievement Award from the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas.
“Don Galey’s name has been synonymous with leadership in the marine industry, beyond just the dealership level, for decades,” said MRAA President Matt Gruhn. “Don has been a leader for the MRAA, for the boat brands and other partners he represents, for his community, and for his dealer colleagues across North America.”
The MRAA Lifetime Achievement Award was presented at the MRAA Opening Night Awards Celebration on Dec. 10 in conjunction with the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo, which MRAA co-produces with Boating Industry magazine.
