Freedom Waters Foundation announces honorary board of directors

Freedom Waters Foundation appointed Jim Sacks of Advantage Services and Ron McTighe of Luke Brown Yachts to its newly formed, honorary Board of Directors during the organization’s recent East Coast Summit.

“Jim and the entire Advantage Services team have worked relentlessly through the years to provide the organization invaluable support in the areas of technology, organizational development and fund raising,” said Freedom Waters Foundation Executive Director/Co-Founder Debra Frenkel. “Ron has given endless support to our East Coast programming and by heading up our annual Dania Beach Marine Flea Market Fundraiser.”

Keith Perfect, director of web development for Advantage Services, serves as the Foundation’s secretary.

The mission of the Freedom Waters Foundation is to improve the lives of individuals with special needs and veterans by providing therapeutic, marine-related experiences.

Programs are currently operating in Collier, Broward, Lee, and Palm Beach counties in Florida and are growing into other areas of the United States.

Through the invaluable support of volunteers and dedicated staff, Freedom Water’s Foundation will provide nearly 3,000 on-water opportunities in 2017.

Its programs include Weller Days yacht outings for children with cancer and their families and other special need groups, as well as sailing and fishing programs designed to specifically include individuals with disabilities, marine activities for veterans and their families, and a variety of boating themed special events.

The programs are made possible by the generosity of boaters and yacht owners, the marine industry and the communities that donate their vessels and volunteer their time.
