Brunswick CEO Mark D. Schwabero to open METSTRADE
The 2017 METSTRADE Show opening ceremony “Breakfast Briefing,” held on Nov. 14, will include a keynote address by Brunswick Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark D. Schwabero. His presentation, “Global Marine Trends and Opportunities,” will mark the opening of the briefing, which will also feature the award ceremony for the DAME Design Award. Hosted by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, the Breakfast Briefing is held annually on the first day of the METSTRADE Show and attracts hundreds of global representatives from a range of companies within the industry.
Schwabero’s presentation will explore the connections between the marine leisure sector and other areas of industrial manufacturing, including how marine leisure compares with other industries. Leveraging on his unique perspective, he will provide insights into the challenges that the marine sector is facing and the best ways to overcome them. After the Breakfast Briefing, Schwabero will also give an interview on the InnovationLAB Stage and meet with young professionals from the METSTRADE Young Professionals Club.
Schwabero started his career in the automotive equipment sector, working for companies such as Navistar International, Bosch Braking Systems North America, Pilkington Libbey-Owens-Ford and Hendrickson International. He became president of Mercury Marine in 2008, and moved to Brunswick Corporation as president and chief operating officer in 2014. He became chair and CEO at the same company in 2016.
