Gemeco manager announces retirement

Gemeco’s assistant general manager Bob Hall is retiring after more than 39 years in the industry. Company general manager Peter Braffitt said Hall’s dedication to providing customers with technical knowledge and personalized customer service has set the standard for our entire team.

“He has a real connection with all those he works with and garners respect within all levels of the organization and industry,” Braffitt said in a statement. “While I hate to see him go, I am also very happy for him. I wish him health and happiness in retirement.” His retirement is effective July 1.

Hall founded Gem Electronics in 1978 to be a solution to providing service parts and advanced technical knowledge to the marine industry. In 2005, the company was purchased by Airmar Technology Corporation and renamed Gemeco Marine Accessories. Today, Gemeco is a wholesale distributor to thousands of marine electronics dealers throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Bob’s passion for the water and love of photography will shape his retirement plans to enjoy travel and boating from his home in Charleston, South Carolina with wife Suzy.

“We look forward to seeing Bob at boat shows and to continuing the legacy he created in our beloved industry,” said Braffitt.

Industry friends are invited to share a story or send best wishes to Hall on the company website.
