RIMTA partners with new producer on Providence Boat Show

The Rhode Island Marine Trades Association has partnered with a new show producer to further build the Providence Boat Show into a premier wintertime boating event. Based in Newport, the new producer Marketing & Events brings a strong track record of producing trade shows, festivals and boating events that stretches back 30 years.

M&E Founder David Rosenberg began his career in event management at the Newport Yachting Center and coordinated boating rendezvous, fishing tournaments and other boating events before establishing his own company. Some of the events M&E is now managing include the 10-day Newport Winter Festival, the Black Ships Festival, and (for 20 years) the New England Regional Turfgrass Conference & Show held at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Rosenberg ran the Providence show before it was purchased by George Hawkins.

RIMTA will remain the owner of the Providence show and will work closely with M&E to help drive the direction of the show and further enhance the event’s value to the industry.

“We have found the right partner to take the Providence Boat Show to the next level, and we are looking forward to seeing the show mature with the new energy and longtime expertise that M&E now brings to the event,” said Wendy Mackie, CEO of RIMTA.

PBS exhibitors will be hearing from M&E soon to start booking space for this winter’s show. The 2018 Providence Boat Show will take place at the RI Convention Center from Feb. 2-4.
