Grady-White retrofits boat models to add SureShade option

SureShade, the U.S. designer and manufacturer of patented retractable sunshade systems for the marine industry, announced that Grady-White Boats has expanded its offering of SureShade-equipped boat models with the addition of five newly retrofitted boat models in 2017. SureShade’s patented telescoping shade systems are now available on 12 Grady-White boat models as a factory-installed option or standard feature.

Existing Grady-White boat models retrofitted to include SureShade as a factory option include 225, 235, 255, 275 and 285 models in the Freedom series. Retrofitted boat models give Grady-White customers the option of purchasing a new boat already equipped with a SureShade retractable shade at the factory as opposed to ordering a shade as an aftermarket addition.

Grady-White was also the first U.S. boatbuilder to offer SureShade as a standard factory feature with the 2013 debut of their Freedom 375. Since then, Grady-White has continued to debut new boat models equipped with SureShade, in addition to retrofitting existing boat models.

Grady-White now offers SureShade on the following 12 boat models:

  • SureShade ATF Automated Boat Shade – Standard: 375, 370 with AV2
  • SureShade ATF Automated Boat Shade – Option: 307, 335, 330 (AV2, traditional hardtop and full enclosure), 336, 376, 370 (traditional hardtop and enclosed helm)
  • SureShade MTF Manual Boat Shade – Option: 225, 235, 255, 275 and 285.

“Over the last five years we have significantly increased the number of boat models offering SureShade to meet the growing demand for a quality sunshade solution for our customers,” said Kris Carroll, president of Grady-White Boats. “Incorporating innovative features like SureShade’s sunshade systems has contributed considerably to Grady-White’s reputation of delivering the ultimate boating experience for our customers and selling more boats.”

SureShade’s portfolio of automated and manual retractable sunshade products are designed for nearly any boat size, and every shade product can be retrofitted to an existing boat with an appropriate overhead structure.

“The versatility of SureShade’s design and product line allows OEMs to easily incorporate SureShade into an existing boat model without extensive modifications or having to wait for a new model year launch,” said Dana Russikoff, SureShade business leader and co-founder. “Our continued growth outfitting both new and retrofitted models for quality builders like Grady-White proves that SureShade is a desirable option that boat buyers demand.”
