Same-store boat dealer sales up 4.7% in March

Boat sales continued their climb in March, with same-store sales increasing 4.7 percent from March 2016.

It was the third month in a row of same-stores sales gains. That’s according to the latest report from CDK Global Recreation, which is based on data from users of the company’s Lightspeed software.

Unit sales were up 5.2 percent for the period, after increasing 7.3 percent in February. It was the third month in a row and seventh out of the last eight that unit sales have increased.

Service department revenue was also up, improving 5.3 percent year over year. That was also the third straight month of higher revenue for service.

Parts and accessories sales also continue to be strong. Sales were up 3.5 percent from March 2016, after a 15.8 percent increase in February. It was the sixth month in a row that parts and accessories sales increased.
