IMBC expert marina panel now available for download
At the International Marina and Boatyard Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, the educational track featured a panel of five top marina experts who addressed the value and impact of boats clubs on their businesses.
Due to the interest in the topic and the limited opportunity for audience participation, the panel presentation was videotaped and is now available for viewing or download.
“We believe the panel insight is beneficial for not only marina operators, but other segments of the industry including retail dealerships who may have questions about how boat clubs work and the partnership opportunities that are available,” said Wanda Kenton Smith, panel moderator. “We appreciate IMBC organizers making this topic available to its attendees, and welcome the opportunity to share the panel findings with others who may have interest.”
Participants included Sam Chavers of SunTex; Sam Lowry of MarineMax; Jeremy Holcomb of Legendary Marina; Travis Staats of Camachee Cove Marina; and John Giglio of Freedom Boat Club.
The hour-long presentation covered a club-specific topics including best practices and top revenue-generating opportunities, docking logistics and recommendations, fueling practices, insurance requirements, and primary operational challenges. The panel also addressed the impact of boat clubs on new boat sales and rental boat operations.
“It was great to have five leading marina operators from various segments of the industry, representing different sizes and boat club experiences, to share their experiences and perspectives on this hot topic,” said Kenton Smith.
