The International Marina & Boatyard Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jan. 25-27, 2017, will host a full day of pre-conference events on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 24 and 25. From association meetings to a field trip to area marinas, IMBC –produced by the Association of Marina Industries – gathers the industry together before launching its opening night reception.
On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the American Boat Builders’ & Repairers Association will hold a cocktail reception and meeting at the Renaissance Hotel before segueing into its daylong annual symposium at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center the next day. On Wednesday, during ABBRA’s symposium, 120 marina professionals will take advantage of IMBC’s annual field trip by taking a boat ride to such area marinas as Pier Sixty-Six Marina, Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, and the Lauderdale Marine Center.
At the end of the day on Wednesday, AMI will hold its annual member meeting before adjourning for IMBC’s First Time Attendee Reception, a gathering to welcome those in the industry who have not participated in IMBC in the past.
All of these events dovetail into the most popular event at IMBC: The opening night reception (sponsored by Safe Harbor Marinas), from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., to celebrate the opening of the IMBC 2017 exhibit hall. IMBC exhibits, seminars, and workshops take place from Wednesday evening through Friday at 5 p.m.
