Bennett Brothers Yachts celebrates 30 years
Wilmington, N.C.-based Bennett Brothers Yachts is celebrating 30 years this month. Founded by Paul and Patricia Bennett in 1986 in Stamford, Conn. and relocating to the Cape Fear River area of Wilmington in 1989, they worked together to grow the company’s reputation. Bennett Brothers Yachts builds custom power and sailing yachts, restorations and repairs that serve U.S. and extended cruisers. Full-service brokerage also onsite.
When Paul passed away due to cancer ten years ago, Patricia took the helm with son Connor. moving ahead with a dedicated staff with a combined century-plus experience and expertise. The American Boat Builders and Repairers Association presented Bennett Brothers with the 2015 Award of Excellence for Customer Care. It is a longtime national member organization that represents over 250 boatyards, repairers and associated industries worldwide.
“Mariners constantly reach out for our advice,” says Connor, “on everything from how to make on-water repairs to where a good restaurant is at their arriving port. Cruisers keep detailed blogs of their travels and if problems do arise, they have access to our highly experienced tech support 24/7 with parts shipped to remote anchorages when required.”
New is the yard’s Stand Watch Yacht Management Program. Under the boat owner’s direction, the program offers regular intervals of observation (daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) to assist in monitoring the status of a boat left in their care. A number of services are included and others that can be added.
