AMI, MYMIC and USI partner on “Marina Safety Awareness” training

AMI, MYMIC Training Technologies, and USI are partnering in delivering an online course — offered in both English and Spanish —to help marinas’ new and seasonal employees better understand marina operations to improve customer service and reduce risk. MYMIC Training Technologies developed the Marina Safety Awareness Training course with the goal of reducing accidents and injuries among marina personnel.

This game-based course lets trainees interact with a virtual marina, where they identify and learn about the potentially hazardous areas of a marina. It is part of MYMIC Training Technologies new learning management system (LMS) or online classroom that lets a marina’s employees train from anywhere, at any time. All an employee needs is a smartphone, personal tablet or computer with internet connection to access their company’s specific LMS content with their username and password.

“In today’s fast-paced digital world, this training offers marina managers another tool for training their new and seasonal employees quickly and efficiently,” said Brad Gross, AMI chair.

For marine owners/administrators, an additional benefit is their ability to track employees’ progress in the series of in-depth training modules that are offered. AMI members, meanwhile, can use coupon code AMI17 at checkout for a 10 percent discount. Certified Marina Managers and Certified Marina Operators can apply this training toward their required annual continuing education units.

USI Insurance Services USA, the endorsed AMI risk management partners, is also offering this product to the AMI home page under the USI tab as an additional service to participating marinas, and is one more program among the many that they offer as part of their online safety and compliance programs available to AMI members.
