M&P Mercury becomes Five Star and Brunswick Master Dealer

M&P Mercury recently completed recertification in the highest tier of the Marine Industry Certified Dealership (MICD) program. In order to achieve the designation of Five Star MICD, M&P Mercury met a set of established criteria that includes 30 standards designed to create continuous improvement across all facets of the dealership, including customer satisfaction, operational quality and business performance and practices.

Originally launched in 2005 as a pillar of the industry’s Grow Boating initiative, the MICD program was developed through cooperative efforts of boat dealers, manufacturers and engine builders as part of an industry-wide effort to ensure a positive experience for consumers at the retail level.

The program sets standards for all U.S. and Canadian marine dealers to strive for when it comes to sales, service and follow-up processes, human resources and training, and facility upkeep. It is comprised of three steps, each of which is earned based on meeting 10 individual standards. Program compliance requires evaluation by an independent, third-party consultant and participating dealerships retain their Certified status for two years — after which time they are re-evaluated and recertified.

The MICD program is a Grow Boating initiative that is managed, administered and marketed by the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA). Five Star Solutions assesses qualifying dealerships. M&P Mercury is a Boating Industry Top 100 dealer, most recently ranked at No. 9.
