Port Supply becomes West Marine Pro
West Marine has changed the name of its professional customer business from Port Supply to West Marine Pro. The announcement was made Tuesday, on the opening day of the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX), taking place Oct. 4-6 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa.
Port Supply has been the professional brand of West Marine since 1978. The West Marine Pro brand symbolizes the company’s dynamic future as part of a strong community of West Marine professional and retail customers and better aligns the company’s B2B side with the brand recognition of its retail business, said West Marine CEO Matt Hyde.
“By connecting our retail and professional customer communities under the West Marine name, we’re building one outstanding brand that can service both the retail and professional customer better than any organization of its kind,” said Hyde.
“We’ll provide the same outstanding customer service and individualized attention we did under the Port Supply brand, but now, as West Marine Pro, we’ll be able to capitalize on the strong brand that is West Marine and continue serving our professional customers with best-in-class products and services now and into the future,” said Hyde.
