Boating Industry names Bill Yeargin Mover & Shaker of the Year

TAMPA – Correct Craft President and CEO Bill Yeargin has been named the 2016 Boating Industry Mover & Shaker of the Year.

Boating Industry Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Sweet presented Yeargin with the award during the IBEX Industry Breakfast Tuesday morning in Tampa.

“The 6th annual Movers & Shakers Awards recognizes the top leaders in the boating industry, innovators that are willing to challenge the status quo,” Sweet said in announcing the award. “They are the people who make the moves that shake up and better their companies and the entire industry.”

Boating Industry also recognized three other industry leaders as finalists for the Mover & Shaker of the Year award:

  • Chuck Cashman of MarineMax
  • Marshall Funk of Safe Harbor Marinas
  • Dana Russikoff of SureShade

Yeargin was chosen for Correct Craft’s recent acquisitions, as well as his efforts to further the industry’s issues and concerns, Sweet said.

He has met with government officials from President Obama to the secretaries of commerce and the treasury. He is also a member of the Manufacturing Council, a group of 25 business leaders who advise Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker.

“Bill also believes in serving the greater good,” Sweet said. “Through the Nautique Cares program, Bill and his team have worked on service projects both locally and globally. Employees have traveled to a number of countries to build houses, serve schools and orphanages, feed the hungry and fight human trafficking. As Bill says, ‘”Making Life Better” is not just a tagline for us, it is our core philosophy.’”
