MYMIC Training Technologies, a learning and simulation training company, announced Thursday the release of a new smartphone app designed to help marinas and boatyards with equipment & facility inspections.
Electronic Marine Equipment Checklist or eMEC is available on both Google Play and iTunes. Designed to aid marinas complete OSHA required daily inspections for forklifts & Travelifts, eMEC allows the user to scan a barcode, complete a machine specific safety check and upload the record to cloud storage for retrieval at a later date as needed.
“Our goal at MYMIC Training Technologies is to help marinas and boatyards enhance safety programs and OSHA compliance by leveraging technology,” said Robert Smith, director of marina safety programs for MYMIC Training Technologies. “eMEC is a perfect tool to quickly and easily conduct the required OSHA daily inspection and create the records needed”.
Rick Chapman, general manager at The Port of Sunnyside Club in Stillwater, Minn., said “the new app for our daily Travelift and Fork Lift inspections has made life so much easier. In the past I struggled with my Travelift and Forklift operators to get them to fill out and maintain our daily, OSHA required, inspection log. Once I had the app installed on their smart phones, they took ownership of the daily inspections immediately and I can check to make sure the inspections have been submitted without ever leaving my desk. This app is simply brilliant.”
MYMIC Training Technologies has plans to continue expanding its Marina Safety Training program in the near future, adding new on-site instructor training such as the OSHA 10 course and CPR training. From online training to complete safety program management, MYMIC Training Technologies has a solution perfect for a variety of facilities.
