Tides Marine to celebrate 25th anniversary at IBEX 2016

The Tides Marine team will be celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary in Tampa Convention Center booth 917 at next week’s International Boatbuilders Exposition and Conference.

Founded in 1991, the company provides solutions for leaky shaft seals and mainsails that are difficult to raise and lower single-handedly.

Tides Marine Self Aligning SureSeal shaft seals feature housings manufactured from fiber-composite material that are unaffected by temperature changes and will not absorb water. Integral PTFE bearings extend their operating life under normal operating conditions.

The SureSeal is connected to the vessel’s stern tube using a single-convolution hose. The hose design automatically positions the SureSeal the correct operating distance from the stern tube. No measurements are required. The SureSeal design incorporates a removable front cap, which improves access to the lip seal. A worn lip seal can be replaced while the vessel is in the water.

The Tides Marine Sail Track & Slide System is a low friction mainsail luff track and slide system built to handle the increased loads and demands of today’s full or partially battened, large roach and high aspect mainsails. When installed, the mainsail will raise and drop when the halyard is released.

The Tides system offers minimal stack height, less weight aloft and low friction performance rivaling systems costing three times as much that have to be installed by skilled labor in order to properly mount them. The track comes coiled in a box and can be installed by the owner in less than an hour, with no special tools.

Tides is also a supplier of durable, water-tight and abrasion-resistant bearing products that eliminate metal-on-metal contact and the associated problems of abrasion, electrolysis and corrosion.
