Aqua Marine Partners acquires Palm Island Marina

Aqua Marine Partners has acquired Palm Island Marina from Garfield Beckstead, Dean Beckstead and Terry Lynch. AMP, an owner and operator of marina properties, closed on the acquisition in Cape Haze, Fla., on August 26.

The approximately 290 slip marina will be renamed Aquamarina Palm Harbour. Situated just minutes from the Boca Grande Pass, the property is located in a tarpon fishing hotspot. The marina is in close proximity to the Palm Island Resort and its magnificent beaches, and is known primarily for its resort-style facility with a swimming pool, established restaurant and other amenities.

Aquamarina Palm Harbour intends to maintain its operational association with Palm Island Resort and continue the water taxi shuttle service to or from the marina and the resort. The landing site will remain adjacent to the marina’s restaurant tenant, Johnny Leverock’s, which is currently being refurbished and anticipates its grand re-opening shortly.

“We are thrilled to be growing our AMP family,” said Andrew Sturner, founder & chairman of AMP. “We have recently expanded our team to acquire additional marinas and this particular marina is a gem –one that has been maintained and is in a fabulous location. AMP intends to improve and expand the marina and will invest in the operational and aesthetic aspects of the physical property.”

Aquamarina Palm Harbour has two dry storage buildings with aisles for larger boats, deep water wet slips, travel lift operations for larger boats requiring a full service boat yard, customer service scores as a Premier and now Platinum Level Mercury Service team while maintaining and enhancing all environmental and safety standards as a designated Clean Marina by the State of Florida.

Additionally, AMP says the location was formerly one of the most successful Sea Ray dealerships in the country and the company sees the potential to reintroduce a dealership with key partnerships. AMP also intends to introduce key components of its operation, such as modern marina management technology, video surveillance, Membership Plans designed to maintain and perform preventative maintenance services as well as other new boating lifestyle concepts that benefit boat owners and boat renters who patron the marina.

“I am eager to watch AMP execute upon many of the visions we had for Palm Island Marina. This all started when we engaged AMP for a consultation assignment in an attempt to go to the next level of our marina business operations and to give our customers the best value,” said Terry Lynch, former co-owner of Palm Island Marina. “AMP loved what they saw and made us an offer to buy. We are extremely fortunate to have found AMP.  We feel that by selling Palm Island Marina to them, we have done something great for our customers and for the entire community.”
