Lowrance and Simrad sign exclusive partnership with Crest Pontoons

Lowrance and Simrad announced Monday its exclusive partnership with Crest Pontoon. The Lowrance HOOK-4 fishfinder/chartplotter will be offered as an exclusive navigation option on all 2017 Crest I, Crest II, Crest II Fish and Crest II Select boats. Simrad GO5 XSE multifunction displays will be offered as the standard navigation system on all 2017 Caliber, Classic, Caribbean, Continental and Savannah boats.

The HOOK-4 combines fishfinding capabilities with a bright, 4-inch, color LED-backlit display. It comes with Lowrance features like CHIRP Sonar plus DownScan Imagin for the best possible view beneath the boat. For navigation purposes, HOOK-4 features a built-in GPS antenna, plus a detailed U.S. map featuring more than 3,000 lakes and rivers and coastal contours to 1,000 feet.

The Simrad GO5 XSE features a super-bright multi-touch display, internal 10 Hz GPS receiver, StructureScan HD and CHIRP Sonar, autopilot integration/control, engine data monitoring, full audio entertainment integration with SonicHub2, integrated wireless connectivity and the new Simrad TripIntel trip computer. The GO5 XSE display offers multi-touch controls that are similar to smartphones and tablets. Boaters are able to tap the screen to create or select waypoints, pinch-to-zoom or tap-and-drag to pan smoothly across charts, while home screen and menu layouts allow quick access to all functions. The displays also come with adjustable split-screen views and customizable panel layouts with large icons.

“At each trim level within the Crest family of pontoons, we provide owners with unprecedented quality, safety, style and comfort,” said Joe Antonneau, senior vice president of sales & marketing, Crest Marine. “With the new collaboration, we know that we are adding to this level of quality by offering the very best navigation and fishfinding system on the market. We are positive our customers will be very pleased with the Lowrance HOOK-4 display … [and] the Simrad GO5 XSE display.”

“Over its long history, Crest Pontoons has brought countless boat owners a tremendous on-the-water experience,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “We are proud of our latest standalone navigation systems and know they are a perfect fit for such a well-respected boat brand, like Crest. We also look forward to developing this partnership further.”
